Experience with generators is welcome but not required. If you come from plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or carpentry, you already have most of what we’re looking for — we’ll teach you the rest.

Generator Technician

Midwest Generator Solutions is a generator installation, maintenance, sales, and service company serving the greater state of Indiana. Our company was established in 2001 under the name White’s Electrical; however, with generator sales expanding and growing, we branched off from White’s Electrical into our own separate company, now known as MGS.

MGS is currently hiring and seeking to fill the position for a career minded Generator Technician. The position we are seeking to fill requires the following:

  • Generac, Briggs & Stratton, and Kohler: Air Cooled Certification (Helpful)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience servicing generators
  • Self-direction, organization, and the ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Punctuality and a strong work ethic
  • Extensive knowledge of NEC
  • Extensive knowledge of black pipe and CSST (Helpful)
  • Plumbing experience (Helpful)
  • Electrical experience
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. over head
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to use shovels, rakes, and power tools
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work long hours on an as needed basis

Job Type: Full-time

Hiring is contingent upon a criminal background check, a motor vehicle driving record, and passing a pre-employment drug screen test.  Compensation is determined upon experience.

  • This position requires punctuality, the ability to learn quickly and requires a strong work ethic
  • Electrical, gas line and Generator experience helpful
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs over head
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to use shovels, rakes and power tools
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work long hours on an as needed basis
  • Must have a willingness to learn and improve on a daily basis
  • Must be willing to attend school and certifications courses
